Drapanias village
in Kissamos
Only 25 minutes drive away from Chania through the national road of Chania-Kissamos, it is located the village of Drapanias.It is surrounded by the capes Gramvousa and Spatha of Kissamos bay of the Cretan sea in the Western Crete, only a few meters away from Nopigia village and 3 km away from the town of Kastelli where you will find everything you need: Health Center, Pharmacies, Medical Offices, Super Markets, Bakeries, Cleaners/Ironers, Gas Stations, Post Offices, Banks with ATM.
Drapanias village is both a coastal and a mountain village. In the mountainous part of the village, with a population of approximately 500 residents, there are picturesque narrow streets and beautiful churches where you will enjoy stunning views. In the village, you can buy goods from grocery stores and mini markets or you can go to traditional restaurants and coffee shops.
A delightful, fully of groves, path leads you to the coastal part of the village, Drapanias. Pure and unchanged from the mass tourism, Drapanias beach, is a good chance to swim in a clean sea (which has already been proposed for blue flag), to relax and enjoy your sunbathing in a calm enviroment or you may just cross the beach by picking up pebbles and breathing the breeze of the sea.
Alternatively, in Drapanias beach, you may enjoy your sunbathing in a more cosmopolitan enviroment with deckchairs and umbrellas or even you may visit its coffee shops and its traditional restaurants with a variety of flavors from Cretan kitchen. Just a few meters away, there is camping Mithimna where you can buy goods for your very basic needs.
